Mr. R. Maudling is 32 and a barrister, who has served in the R.A.F. and in the Air Ministry as the Minister’s private secretary. He is head of the Conservative Party’s economic department, and has been personal adviser on these subjects to Mr. Churchill. He was educated at Merchant Taylors’ School and Merton College, Oxford.
