BIOGRAPHY :

Mr. D. E. Thomas, 57, is a native of Maesteg, where he worked as a miner until 1919, when he became a trade union official. He transferred in 1934 to Aberdare as local secretary and later was elected miners’agent. He became M.P. at a by-election in December, 1946.
